Teen gets surprise NYC trip for work with Bus Stop Club
BETHLEHEM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A selfless local teen received a special surprise on Wednesday through the Bus Stop Club. He's being given a special honor for the care he's giving his disabled brother, and his kindness is being rewarded with an unforgettable experience.
Tristan Toriano is a 14-year-old student at Bethlehem High School, and he was selected to be Sibling Star by the Bus Stop Club. He's been a member of the Bus Stop Club for 10 years. The group caters to the siblings of chronically ill children and children with special needs.
Tristan helps take care of his brother, Jude, who has several health conditions, and the Bus Stop Club awarded him with a weekend trip to New York City.
During his trip, Tristan is being rewarded $1,000 to spend at the Lego store, visiting the American Dream Indoor Park, and seeing his favorite comedian Jim Gaffigan. He and his family also got tickets to see "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" on Broadway.
"This is great. I'm so surprised," Tristan said. "I don't even have a lot of words."
Congratulations Tristan!
