Emporia State women's basketball coach resigns
EMPORIA (KSNT) - Emporia State women's basketball will have a new head coach next season. Brian Ostermann announced Tuesday evening he is resigning from his position.
"At this time, I have decided to pursue opportunities at the Division I level and wish the Lady Hornets success in the future," said Ostermann in a press release from Emporia State Athletics. "I'd like to thank President Hush, David Spafford and Steve Rodecap for their tremendous leadership. I enjoyed my two years in Emporia, particularly the past semester with this team. I want to thank our players and staff for everything and wish them the best."
Ostermann was hired in April 2023 to lead the Lady Hornets basketball program. He went 24-35 in his two years as head coach. Emporia State was 10-19 this past season with a 5-14 record in MIAA play.
ESU athletics says it will immediately begin its search for a new head women's basketball coach.
