Warriors vs. Bucks injury report: Steph Curry is out

The full injury report for Tuesday’s game on NBA TV.

The Golden State Warriors had no time to mope after Monday’s ugly loss to an extremely short-handed Denver Nuggets squad. It’s right back to action for the Dubs, who are facing another NBA contender headed by a multi-time MVP: the Milwaukee Bucks.

Like the Nuggets on Monday, the Bucks’ biggest stars are listed on the injury report. But unlike with Denver, it looks like Milwaukee’s key players will still be suiting up ... unfortunately, that’s not the case for the Warriors, who will try to avoid losing consecutive games following a seven-game winning streak.

Warriors

Out — Steph Curry (rest)

We all saw this coming. Curry has looked physically compromised for the last week or so, and Monday was his worst game of the season. After the loss, Steve Kerr said that Curry is worn out, and that the team would look for ways to rejuvenate him, hinting at a day off today. It hurts them short term, but could pay massive dividends long term.

Questionable — Brandin Podziemski (bilateral low back strain)

The Dubs are losing a guard for one game, but potentially gaining another. Including the game that he left after just 44 seconds, Podziemski has missed five straight games. The Warriors have gone 4-1 in those games, but the second-year guard’s absence has still very much been felt. His energy, defense, toughness, and playmaking would be huge if he can suit up tonight.

Questionable — Quinten Post (right ankle impingement)

Despite starting, Post played fewer than nine minutes on Monday, though that seemed more due to matchups than an ankle that has been bother him. This would be a fun game for him, as Milwaukee’s starting center — Brook Lopez — is a great player for Post to model his game after.

Available — Gary Payton II (bilateral nasal bone fracture — facemask)

I’m sure the facemask isn’t comfortable, but given how Payton’s been playing lately, I hope he never takes it off.

Bucks

Out — Bobby Portis (league suspension)

Portis has had one of the best years of his career ... when he’s been on the court. He’s averaging 13.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, but he hasn’t played in a while, and won’t play for a while still. This is No. 15 in a 25-game league suspension for violating the league’s anti-drug program.

Out — Jericho Sims (right thumb UCL sprain)

Sims has been playing only a minor role for the Bucks since coming over in a midseason trade. He’s out for the rest of the regular season, but could return for the playoffs.

Probable — Giannis Antetokounmpo (right patella tendinopathy)

It’s been another year at the office for Antetokounmpo, who has remarkably finished top-four in MVP voting in each of the last six seasons. With 30.4 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game, Giannis is still one of the truly elite players in the NBA. He’s likely to play tonight, and needless to say, that’s bad news for the Dubs.

Probable — Damian Lillard (right groin soreness)

We know that Dame loves to return home to the Bay Area to play, so expect him to suit up tonight. He looks more comfortable in Milwaukee’s system in his second year with the team, and was named an All-Star for the ninth time in his career.

Probable — Gary Trent Jr. (left patella tendinopathy)
