Injured man dies on Mt. Bachelor after getting trapped in snow
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A Seattle man died on Mt. Bachelor on Monday after getting injured and trapped in the snow, the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office announced Monday.
Authorities responded to the report of a man trapped in the snow around 3 p.m. and found him buried headfirst in the snow.
Despite rescue efforts, the man died at the scene.
"This is a heartbreaking loss, and our thoughts are with those who knew and loved him. We also want to recognize the swift response and dedication of all those citizens who assisted in this rescue effort," Sheriff Kent van der Kamp said.
