My hair was thin after falling out in chunks – an Amazon shampoo helped it grow thick & fast, now I can’t see my scalp
A WOMAN has revealed how an Amazon purchase helped her hair grow back thick and fast after it began thinning and falling out in chunks.
Victoria was losing her hair due to hormone fluctuations caused by peri-menopause, but since using the product, she has seen a significant improvement.
The woman explained that the shampoo she uses has brought back her confidence after witnessing how much her hair has improved.
The Grow Me Hair Growth Shampoo claims to provide a “kiss of life for hair” and is ideal for those struggling with thinning, fine, weak, or damaged hair.
The £13.90 product, available on Amazon, contains biotin, argan oil, rosemary, and niacinamide.
It is a hair-thickening treatment for both women and men, and unlike typical wash-and-go shampoos, it is “designed for optimal effectiveness”.
For best results, users are advised to leave the shampoo on the scalp to allow the ingredients to penetrate deeply and target the hair follicles.
Writing a review on the Amazon website, Victoria gave it a five-star rating.
She revealed that she had been using the shampoo for six months and noticed much less hair clogging the plughole, after previously losing chunks.
She said: “Six months on and I can hardly see my scalp.”
Victoria suggested leaving the shampoo on for three minutes before rinsing it off and using it three to four times a week.
She added: “I can’t tell you what a relief it is to see my hair improve as it was killing my confidence.”
Another woman, Fi, who also experienced hair loss, shared her own positive experience. Fi has long, “dry-ish” hair and uses the shampoo every third day.
She said: “I definitely give this the thumbs up 100% and will continue using.”
Fi revealed that the shampoo gave her volume, strengthened her hair, and stopped her shedding hair all over the house.
In the comments section, she added: “I’ve got one- to two-inch baby hair now covering the thin patches.
“I can’t remember the last time I had so much baby hair growth – it’s been years.
“I had to do my grey roots every fortnight and I realised recently that I don’t notice my roots for three weeks because the new hair camouflages the existing grey.”
Louise George, another satisfied customer, also gave the shampoo a five-star review and said she would “highly recommend” it.
Due to weight loss, Louise’s hair had been falling out, but she has been using the shampoo in conjunction with a hair serum for two and a half months.
She wrote: “I didn’t realise the difference until I took photos.
“Even though the bottle isn’t large, a little goes a long way. I have only just purchased my second bottle, and it smells nice too.”
Hair re-growth FAQs
Anabel Kingsley, Consultant Trichologist and Brand President at Philip Kingsley spoke exclusively to Fabulous.
How long does it take for hair to grow back?
Hair grows, on average, half an inch a month. You cannot speed this up.
Do rosemary oil and scalp massages work?
Oils do not promote hair growth. In terms of rosemary oil, the current trend stems from one small study carried out on 50 men in 2015. No women were involved, and the study compared the effects of 2 per cent minoxidil to Rosemary oil. 2 per cent minoxidil doesn’t do much for
male pattern hair loss anyway, so the results were not very impressive. Oils do serve a purpose in conditioning hair treatments though. They help add shine and smooth the hair cuticle to lock-in moisture and improve combability. Scalp massages alone won’t cure hair loss, but it can help relax you, aid in lymphatic drainage, exfoliate and help topicals penetrate.
Are there any products or foods/vitamins you recommend someone using or eating to help with hair regrowth?
To support healthy hair regrowth, if you are experiencing hair thinning we’d recommend our Density Preserving Scalp Drops clinically proven to help slow hair loss with continued daily use within three months.
Telogen effluvium (hair shedding) due to nutritional deficiencies can often be simply treated with changes to your diet, and nutritional supplements such as our specially formulated Density Healthy Hair Complex and Density Amino Acid Booster.
Iron and Ferritin (stored iron) in red meat, dried apricots and dark, leafy greens. Vitamin B12 in animal products and fortified plant-based foods. Protein from oily fish, lean meat, cottage cheese, tofu, nuts, chickpeas, and beans.
However, there may be an underlying cause for their hair loss and rather than this being masked by using an off-the-shelf product, they should be encouraged to seek the advice of a specialist such as a Trichologist.
