THEATRE bosses put a content warning on Matilda the Musical — because a character does a loud burp on stage.
Bruce Bogtrotter’s belch is one of 24 or so trigger warnings applied to the award-winning show — based on Roald Dahl’s kids’ book.

Producers put the alert in a special document online.
It reads: “Loud burp on stage before song, flashing lights on stage during song, actors run down centre aisle of stalls after song.”
Other alerts include disco ball lighting, as well as the use of party poppers and confetti cannon.
The show includes songs by Aussie comic Tim Minchin and is being performed at Cambridge Theatre in London’s West End.
Senior Tory MP Alec Shelbrooke said: “Theatre bosses need to get a grip and stop lecturing people who cough up extortionate amounts for tickets in the West End.
“If anything, there should be a warning on the price of the drinks at these theatres.”
LW Theatres, which issued the guide, was asked to comment.
