Baloch militants claim 214 Pakistani Soldiers killed in Train Attack
The Baloch militants have claimed responsibility for killing 214 Pakistani soldiers in a recent passenger train attack in Balochistan, causing significant casualties among Pakistani forces.
On Saturday, March 15, the Baloch Liberation Army posted on its X account, claiming that it had given Pakistan 48 hours to exchange prisoners. According to their statement, a strong blow was dealt to Pakistani forces during the operation on the Jaffar express passenger train. The group emphasized that Pakistani security forces failed to rescue the hostages.
The Baloch Liberation Army did not provide any evidence to support their claim of killing 214 Pakistani soldiers.
Pakistan Army spokesperson Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry stated that soldiers had killed 33 militants and rescued 354 hostages, denying any other hostages were taken by the BLA. Pakistani officials accused the BLA of exaggerating their claims.
Chaudhary stated that 31 people, including 23 soldiers, three railway employees, and five passengers, were killed in the attack. He also accused India and Afghanistan of supporting the insurgents, a claim both countries have denied.
The ongoing conflict in Balochistan continues to fuel tensions, with both sides exchanging accusations of casualties and human rights violations. This incident highlights the ongoing struggle between Baloch separatist groups and the Pakistani military, which shows no sign of abating in the near future.
