“Giannis playing well in his audition game to join Luka” — Lakers fans react to blowout loss to Bucks

A look at the live reactions from Lakers fans as the team’s losing streak extended to three in Milwaukee.

The Lakers saw their losing streak continue in Milwaukee on Thursday. With LeBron James, Rui Hachimura and Jaxson Hayes out, the pair of Austin Reaves and Luka Dončić could not carry the undermanned roster past the Bucks.

The good news is that both Reaves (28 points) and Luka (45) had strong showings, a particularly encouraging sign for the former after his poor play since returning from injury. The bad news is that only one other Laker had more than 10 points.

Much of the second half was reduced to garbage time. And a whole lot of you were in the comment section of our game thread to suffer through it together.

Here’s how the game played out, in the words of our community themselves.

First quarter: “They are begging us to win this game”

The Lakers had a nice start offensively in terms of creating open looks, but a host of misses from range, namely from Gabe Vincent, kept the offense from really clicking. Luka Dončić had a strong first quarter to keep the Lakers attached as they trailed just 31-27 despite the missed opportunities.

Second quarter: “Luka is toying with the Bucks”

After treading water despite their offensive struggles, the Lakers started to lose control of the game. With Luka sitting, the offense bogged down and the Bucks created separation, pushing their lead to 12 points.

Then, Luka returned to the game and caught fire, pulling the Lakers to as close as two points. Milwaukee responded and the Lakers went into the half trailing by eight with Luka scoring 29 of the team’s 63 points.

Third quarter: “Lakers have to play perfect to win”

After his red-hot first half, the break cooled Luka off. And with the rest of the Lakers still remaining cold, the game quickly trended in the wrong direction.

The lead ballooned to 20 points as the Bucks had answers for everything the Lakers threw at them on both ends of the floor.

Fourth quarter: “AR’s best game since his injury”

The fourth quarter played out as a mere formality with the Bucks in firm control. The one silver lining from the putrid second half is that Austin Reaves found his way, finishing with 28 points on the night.

Outside of he and Luka’s performance, though, it was a pretty miserable night.
