Gordo!
The Royals announced that Alex Gordon will be the 2025 inductee into the Royals Hall of Fame. After teasing the selection earlier this week with a funny video, they provided a fitting ending to the piece.

Gordon will be inducted in a ceremony on June 13 at Kauffman Stadium.
Alex Gordon was one of the best-fielding outfielders in club history and the starting left fielder on the 2015 championship ballclub. He was the #2 overall pick in the 2005 draft and spent his entire 14-year career with the Royals. Gordo was a three-time All-Star and eight-time Gold Glove winner in left, winning the Platinum Glove in 2014 and 2020. He is sixth in club history in rWAR, games played, runs scored, hits, and totals bases, fifth in home runs, and third in walks. His iconic home run in Game 1 of the 2015 World Series tied the game to send it into extras in a game the Royals would eventually win on their way to a title.
Gordo was remembered for an insane work ethic that included “power shagging” flyballs during batting practice and a weights routine that would leave teammates in awe. In 1,753 career games, he accumulated 34.5 rWAR.
Gordon was selected from a ballot that included Carlos Beltrán, Billy Butler, Johnny Damon, Wade Davis, Jarrod Dyson, Kelvin Herrera, Joakim Soria, and Yordano Ventura. Candidates are selected through a combination of votes from Royals Hall of Fame members, Royals front office staff, Royals Associates with 15 years or more service, select media members, and an online fan vote.
To be eligible for the Royals Hall of Fame, a candidate must have been active with the ballclub for at least three seasons and accumulated a minimum of 1,500 plate appearances or 300 innings pitched, and be retired for at least three years.
