Windy and mild Friday with isolated storms possible
What We’re Tracking
- Extreme fire danger and isolated storms Friday
- Cooler weekend ahead
- Warming back up next week
Winds have been picking up through the night at 15-25 mph from the south. Temperatures are mild in the 50s and even a few holding on to the lower 60s.
We'll see sunshine early on as winds continue to pick up throughout the day. Highs will manage to climb into the middle to upper 70s yet again thanks to our strong southerly breezes that are expected throughout today.
A low pressure system will move right over our area to wrap up the work week. Dry air will make it difficult for showers and thunderstorms to develop, but we do expect a couple of isolated showers or thunderstorms this afternoon.
The system will mainly be a wind producer with gusts as high as 50-60 mph. Dry air and high winds will cause extreme fire conditions on Friday.
A cold front sweeps through and it drops temperatures for the weekend. Highs on Saturday only get to the lower to middle 50s and wind will be out of the northwest 15-20 mph, gusting to as high as 30 mph.
We do start to warm back heading into early next week with upper 70s and low 80s making a return!
