Ange Postecoglou provides Lucas Bergvall injury update at Tottenham
Ange Postecoglou has provided an update on the injury status of Lucas Bergvall, who was forced off with an injury in the second half of Tottenham’s 3-1 win over AZ Alkmaar.
It was nearly a perfect night at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the Lilywhites, with a brace from Wilson Odobert and a fine goal by James Maddison seeing them seal progression to the final eight at the expense of AZ Alkmaar.
The only blip in the performance was the mix-up between Lucas Bergvall and Odobert on 67 minutes which gave a route back into the game for the Eredivisie side.
Apart from that one lapse in concentration, Bergvall delivered a flawless display, helping Spurs dominate the midfield battle, but he was forced off with an injury late on as Ben Davies came on in the Swede’s place on 85 minutes to help the home side see out a win.

Postecoglou revealed that he is wary of the amount of minutes Bergvall has played this season after the 19-year-old was rested against Bournemouth last Sunday.
The teenager has been one of Tottenham’s most consistent performers over recent months, which is why Spurs fans will be hoping and praying that the injury is not serious. Fortunately, they can now breathe a sigh of relief after Postecoglou’s latest revelation.
When asked about Tottenham injury news, the Australian told the official media team that everyone came through the Alkmaar game without a problem – which should include Lucas Bergvall.
Postecoglou also added that Timo Werner and Sergio Reguilon are available again, while Rodrigo Bentancur is back from suspension. However, the likes of Kevin Danso, Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison will not be in the squad to face Fulham.
He said: “(It’s looking) pretty good. (There’s) nothing (to report) from last night. Everyone got through it well.”
Tottenham’s other injuries and suspensions
Tottenham are also without Kevin Danso, Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevskui at the moment, with Postecoglou revealing ahead of the Alkmaar game that Danso and Richarlison are expected to return after the international break.
Meanwhile, Rodrigo Bentacnur, who was suspended for the second leg against Alkmaar, is back available for selection. One would expect the Uruguayan to come straight back into the starting lineup against Fulham on Sunday.
