On Friday morning (March 14), it was announced that the 23-year-old Golden Globe winner will be playing Eva Perón in the West End revival of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber‘s musical Evita.

“The opportunity to bring Jamie Lloyd’s singular, visionary ideas to life onstage is an honour unlike any other,” she continued. “The stage has always felt like home to me, and I can’t wait to make my West End debut in such great company.”
Rachel‘s casting in Evita comes after she made her Broadway debut alongside Kit Connor in Shakespeare‘s Romeo and Juliet this past fall.
Patti LuPone originated the role of Eva Perón on Broadway in 1979, while Madonna portrayed the character in the 1996 movie adaptation. Ariana DeBose was in talks to star in the West End production of Evita, but was unable to sign on due to scheduling conflicts.
Rachel can next be seen in Disney’s live-action remake of Snow White, which hits theaters on March 21. Watch the trailer here!
