Netflix Just Released The Trailer To Its New Docuseries About Child Influencing (And It’s Chilling)
Yesterday, Netflix released the trailer for Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing, and people are SHOOK.
“A DOCUMENTARY ON PIPER ROCKELLE WAS NOT ON MY 2025 BUCKET LIST” commented brooklin on TikTok. “A WHOLE DOCUMENTARY???” exclaimed mileahsboyfriend.
Yep. Well, a docuseries. The eye-opening three-part series follows the disturbing real story behind the popular child influencer, Piper Rockelle, and her momager, Tiffany Smith.
Rockelle amassed a truly insane following across social media for staging pranks, trying trending challenges, and talking about crushes. However, things were not as innocent as they seemed.
As it turns out, Rockelle’s “Piper Squad” was actually a group of child actors. According to People, many of these kids have “nightmarish stories to tell about the star’s mom and manager, Tiffany Smith.”
In fact, in April 2022, 11 teen content creators filed a complaint against Smith. In the complaint, they were claiming being “frequently subjected to an emotionally, physically and sometimes sexually abusive environment perpetrated by Ms. Smith on and off set during filming sessions for Piper’s YouTube channel.”
A child abuse lawsuit followed the complaint, settling in October 2024 for $1.85 million. The settlement was entered without any admission of liability or the validity or lack thereof of any claims or defenses.
In the docuseries, some of Rockelle’s former co-stars have come forward to discuss their experience working with Rockelle and Smith. Throughout the trailer, testimonies of predatory behavior are shared, with tears shed.
Not only that, many of the followers of Rockelle and her teen friends were actually adult men, making everything all the more disturbing.
The docuseries premieres on April 9th, 2025.
