Sharon Stone Says She Was Removed From ‘Another Simple Favor’ Cast ‘For No Reason at All’
Among the new faces in “Another Simple Favor,” the sequel to Paul Feig’s 2018 film starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively, was apparently supposed to be Sharon Stone. But in a testy Instagram comment on Thursday, the actress said she was “removed” from the film’s cast “for no reason at all.”
In a recent reel posted by E News, the hosts debated whether there has been any tension between Kendrick and Lively, who both return for the sequel, amid Lively’s legal battles with “It Ends With Us” co-star Justin Baldoni (“Another Simple Favor” director Paul Feig has denied as much).
In the comments section of the post, Stone opted to air out some frustrations, writing “I LOVED being cast and removed from my role unexpectedly for no reason at all LOVED it.”
She accompanied her words with four of the clapping emojis, but when pressed for more detail by the E News account, its hosts and fans in the comment thread, Stone did not — as of this writing — comment again.
Stone’s casting in “Another Simple Favor” was never publicly reported on, so it’s unclear what role she was supposed to play in the sequel.
Amazon MGM did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.
“Another Simple Favor” sees Emily Nelson (Lively) and Stephanie Smothers (Kendrick) reunite following Emily’s release from prison. This time, they’re headed to Capri for Emily’s wedding, in which she wants Stephanie to be her maid of honor.
Of course, Stephanie fully expects this to be a revenge plot by Emily, so she’s on her toes.
“Another Simple Favor” made its world premiere at SXSW earlier this month, and will be released on Prime Video on May 1.
