DeFazio’s to be full-time at Indian Ladder Farms
ALTAMONT, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Indian Ladder Farms is getting ready to open for the season on March 14. After a fire shut down Indian Ladder Farm's kitchen last fall, the Farm Store is set to reopen on April 7.
The orchard announced on Thursday that DeFazio’s will operate full-time as a service provider for the farm. DeFazio’s will not only run the Pizza Garden, but also the Tasting Room and Biergarten, and Yellow Rock Café. The Pizza Garden opens Memorial Day weekend.
Cider doughnuts are back and will be available in the Tasting Room and Farm Store once it reopens. The Farm Store has been reimagined after last year's fire and will now have a new space for Collar City Mushroom’s retail items, as well as toys, treasures, and treats.
Indian Ladder Farms is holding its annual Maple Fest on March 15 and 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guests who attend Maple Fest can expect live music, vendors, special drinks, educational programs, hikes, and all things maple.
Indian Ladder Farms Cidery and Brewery plans to serve an imperial stout called Tappin' Some Trees Stout, made with maple syrup from Mountain Winds Farm in Berne. Other ciders produced by the farm that will be served this year are Makeshift Sugar Shack and Tap Season Tonic.
Additionally, the farm is preparing for the 30th anniversary of its Baby Animal Days starting on April 11. Admission is $15, and children 12 months or younger are free.
The "Name That Baby" contest is also returning. Guests can choose the name for the Baby Animal Barn's calf, kids, lambs, and pigs. WGNA's Brian and Chrissy will announce the winning names on April 27 at 11 a.m.
