BOCES students become ill in Culinary Arts class
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Several BOCES students became ill on Thursday after consuming food prepared in the Culinary Arts program at the F. Donald Myers Education Center in Saratoga Springs.
In a letter sent to the school community, the WSWHE BOCES superintendent said emergency services were called, and the affected students received medical attention. Police said two were taken to the hospital for further evaluation.
The Saratoga Springs Police Department and fire department responded. The food and ingredients will be tested, and the affected classrooms will undergo a deep cleaning, according to the superintendent.
The incident remains under investigation. The school encouraged parents to monitor their children for any unusual symptoms and to seek medical attention if needed.
