Brian Brobbey wants to join Tottenham despite interest from West Ham and Everton
Tottenham Hotspur have been dealing with a huge injury crisis at the moment.
The Lilywhites are missing several key players due to fitness issues, including Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Timo Werner and Brennan Johnson.
But Ange Postecoglou’s side suffered a particularly big blow recently when Dominic Solanke sustained a knee injury in training, ruling him out for around six weeks.
The England international’s absence means Tottenham are now seeking a new centre-forward in the 2025 winter window.
They are interested in signing Ajax star Brian Brobbey, who has also sparked an interest from West Ham United and Everton.
But Spurs have received a big boost in their chase for the 22-year-old.
According to De Telegraaf reporter Mike Verweij (via Voetbalprimeur), Brobbey wants to join Tottenham in the January transfer window.
Good signing?
Brobbey emerged as one of the finest talents of Ajax academy.
He greatly impressed with his performances for the Dutch giants, and that earned him a move to RB Leipzig.
However, the striker failed to replicate his form in the Bundesliga and returned to the Johan Cruyff Arena in 2021, initially on loan that was later made permanent.
Brobbey’s return has been a success, as he has rediscovered his form and is scoring goals for his team.
However, there remains big question marks whether the Netherlands international is good enough for the Premier League.
He has the physical abilities to thrive in England, but his failure at Leipzig suggests he could struggle in the English league.
Brobbey’s form this season has also been concerning, as he has only scored three goals in 29 appearances across all competitions.
However, the lack of quality options in the market means Tottenham are likely to sign the 22-year-old before the February 3 transfer deadline.
