Huge Tottenham boost as Romero and Van de Ven pictured in training
Tottenham Hotspur fans have received a much-needed boost as Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have been spotted back in outdoor training, signalling progress in their recovery.
Injuries taking their toll at Tottenham
Over the past few weeks, Tottenham Hotspur have been gradually reintegrating injured players back into the squad.
The likes of Ben Davies, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Richarlison have recently returned to fitness, much to the relief of manager Ange Postecoglou, who has seen his side struggle to cope with a congested fixture list and several key absences.
It has been well reported by the manager himself, that more sidelined players will return soon and amongst those expected back, are Romero and Van de Ven.
The manager said in a recent press conference about the return of his centre-back duo: “They’ve still got a bit to do in terms of getting some training into them with the team.
“Obviously, we haven’t been training a lot and because the other day was sort of a low-tempo session, it was just good to get him [Romero] involved.” He also added that Van de Ven is “not too far away.”

Now, recent updates suggest that Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, have taken another significant step forward this week in terms of their recovery.
A tweet from @spurs_India shared an image of the duo training outdoors with the rest of the Tottenham squad, offering a glimmer of hope to supporters who have endured a challenging winter period.
The return of these two players would undoubtedly solidify Tottenham’s defence, which has looked vulnerable in their absence.
When are Romero and Van de Ven expected to return?
While the sight of Romero and Van de Ven in training is encouraging, the question on everyone’s mind is when the duo will be fully fit to return to competitive action.
Ange Postecoglou provided an update last week, speaking to football.london: “Of the long-terms, they are the only two, Micky and Romero, who have a chance of that week.
“But we’ve still got sort of 12 days or something. Part of that process is to see how they cope with training over the next week or so. Both of them are scheduled around that sort of time to be available.”
If all goes according to plan, the pair might be fit enough to feature in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool, which would be a significant boost for Tottenham.
