Israeli Army kills over 20 in Lebanon, one in Gaza amid Ceasefire Deal
According to international media reports, the Israeli army has shot and killed more than 20 people who were returning to their homes in Lebanon and Gaza under ceasefire agreements.
The Associated Press reported that under two ceasefire agreements between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, as well as Hamas in Gaza, hundreds of people were supposed to return to their homes. However, the Israeli army did not allow them to do so.
Israel has accused both Hezbollah and Hamas of violating the ceasefire agreements, justifying its actions as necessary to prevent further threats.
According to the report, Israeli forces opened fire on residents of a village in Lebanon, resulting in 22 deaths and leaving 80 others injured.
Despite the ceasefire, Israel has conducted more than 350 airstrikes aimed at curbing Hezbollah’s activities in Lebanon, indicating continued tensions in the region.
Israel has also accused Hamas of breaching the ceasefire agreement, claiming that militant activities persist despite ongoing negotiations.
The recent events highlight the fragile nature of the ceasefire agreements and the persistent challenges in achieving lasting peace in the region. Despite diplomatic efforts, hostilities and mistrust continue to hinder progress toward stability.
With over 45,000 Palestinians killed since the start of the Gaza conflict and nearly 90% of Gaza’s population displaced, the humanitarian crisis remains severe.
The recent incidents highlight the fragile nature of the ceasefire and ongoing tensions between Israel, Hezbollah, and Hamas. Continued violence threatens regional stability and hampers efforts for displaced civilians to return home.
