'Prices skyrocketing': Trump said to be starting 'dumb trade war' as Colombia retaliates
President Donald Trump on Sunday was said to have launched what could become a trade war with Colombia.
It started when Trump was reportedly "caught by surprise" by Colombia, resulting in a quick retaliatory tariff move that was criticized on social media.
Soon after, it was reported that the leader of Colombia issued retaliatory tariff orders of his own on all U.S. goods.

The news didn't sit well with Trump's critics.
Former Tennessee Democratic election commissioner Chris D. Jackson said, "For all the clowns hyping Trump’s move on Colombia: under Biden, Colombia accepted 475 deportation flights—over 120 in 2024 alone. And he didn’t have to show his a-- or start a trade war
Ruben Gallego said, "trade war that the Trump admin started."
"This could have been resolved with a phone call. Trump picked a fight with an ally, to look strong," he said Sunday. "FYI get your orders in now for roses. We import a majority of roses from Colombia."
Former Democratic lawmaker Bakari Sellers said, "

Dan Pfeiffer, a former senior adviser to Barack Obama, also chimed in:
"Ooh, a dumb and pointless trade war in less than a week Great work!"
One popular influencer who runs the YouTube Channel @LiveFromTheResistance weighed in, "trade war with Columbia in less than 1 week which will send prices of gasoline and products skyrocketing for Americans. Thanks Trump."
Attorney Aaron Parnas added, "trade war with Colombia because of Donald Trump. You know who will suffer? You."
