WICKED OBSESSION
This comes as the world continues its obsession with the Wicked movie franchise after the flick hit cinema screens in November.
Set in the Land of Oz, before Dorothy Gale’s arrival from Kansas, the movie focuses on Elphaba – played by Cynthia Erivo.
Elphaba is the future Wicked Witch of the West, and the movie explores her friendship with her classmate Glinda (the good witch) – played by Ariana Grande.
The movie, which came out in November 2024, is the first installment of a two-part film adaptation of the stage musical of the same name by Stephen Schwartz and Holzman.
The musical was loosely based on Gregory Maguire‘s 1995 novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West.
The aforementioned novel reimagines elements of the Oz books and the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz, with the new movie a prequel of sorts.
