Five speedy & cheap air fryer breakfasts to help you stay on track until payday
WITH the end of January in sight – and wallets feeling the squeeze – it could be time to get clever and creative in the kitchen.
Whip up some speedy and cheap breakfasts in your air fryer to help you stay on track until payday.
Five cheap and easy air fryer breakfasts to help you stay on track until payday[/caption]BAKE AWAY: Transform humble porridge oats into a warm, cake-like brekkie with minimal effort.
Mix oats, a splash of milk, dollop of yoghurt and a bit of sweetener in a ramekin.
Pop it in the air fryer for around seven to ten minutes at 180C, and voilà, you have breakfast pudding!
MAKE A TOAST: Who needs a toaster when you’ve got an air fryer?
Take two slices of bread, layer them with cheese, ham, or leftover vegetables, and butter the outsides.
Cook in the air fryer for five to seven minutes at 200C, flipping halfway.
The result is a golden toastie you can wrap in foil and eat on the go.
EASY OMELETTE: Whisk eggs with a splash of milk, add chopped vegetables, cheese, or leftover cooked potatoes from a previous dinner, and pour the mix into a small ovenproof or silicon dish.
Cook in the air fryer at 180C for approximately five to ten minutes until puffed and golden.
ROLL WITH IT: Use pre-rolled puff pastry to whip up cinnamon rolls without paying café prices.
Spread butter, sugar and cinnamon over a sheet of pastry.
Roll it up, slice, and cook in batches in the air fryer at 190C for eight to ten minutes.
Perfect for on-the-go families.
FLASH HASH: Dice leftover potatoes and toss with a little oil, salt and paprika, then air fry at 200C for ten to 12 minutes.
Add an egg or two on the side, and you’ve got a breakfast big on flavour but low on cost.
