Tina Knowles’ Throwback Video of Granddaughter Blue Ivy Shows She Was Always Meant for the Spotlight
Beyonce and Jay-Z’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, is already a little icon with her dancing skills, acting chops, and artistry. And this new video from her proud grandma, Tina Knowles, shows that Blue Ivy may have always been meant to be in the spotlight.
In case you missed it, on Jan 20, Tina shared a super-sweet throwback video of herself and her granddaughter Blue Ivy to her Instagram. She shared the video with the caption reading, “Just came across this video . Blue was so young! They grow up so fast ❤️.”
While we never see Blue Ivy in the video, we do hear a “corny” joke from her that makes her grandma giggle. We start the video with Tina talking to the camera, saying she got a corny joke for “corny joke time” from her granddaughter, Blue Ivy.
Then, Blue Ivy waves her hand in front of the camera, asking, “How many lips does a flower have?” She then revealed the punchline, saying “Two lips,” as in tulips. And then, it made us giggle even more when she asked Tina, “Do you get it?” before explaining the joke.
This throwback video shows that Blue Ivy has always had a knack for entertainment, even comedy. Plus, we just love seeing sweet grandmother-grandaughter moments from our favorite celebrities!
For those who don’t know, Beyonce and Jay-Z first met in 2000 but didn’t start dating til a few years later. They married in 2008 in a private ceremony on April 4, 2008, in New York City. Later, they welcomed three children together. They welcomed daughter Blue Ivy Carter back in Jan 2012, then welcomed twins Sir and Rumi on June 2017.
In a previous interview with GQ, Beyonce actually told fans early on how gifted her little “artist” Blue Ivy is.
“Blue is an artist,” she said. “She has great taste in music and fashion. She is a fantastic editor, painter, and actress. She has been creating characters since she was three. She’s a natural, but I did not want Blue onstage. Blue wanted it for herself. She took it seriously, and she earned it. And most importantly, she had fun! We all watched her grow more and more every night before our eyes.”
These celebrity parents are raising strong, resilient daughters.
