'It’s not entertainment television': GOP senator snaps at White House over nominee threat
Demands by Donald Trump and his advocates that Republican senators fall in line and rubber-stamp all his cabinet nominees is raising some hackles within the GOP caucus.
According to a report from MSNBC, Republican party lawmakers are being pressured to rush through Trump's nominees no matter how many questions are being raised about them, including controversial nominees such as ex-Rep Tulsi Gabbard and FBI head nominee Kash Patel.
The report notes that a senior White House official explained the pressure campaign with, "It’s pass-fail. You either support everyone or you don’t. The Senate needs to advise and consent, not advise and adjust.”

According to MSNBC's Garrett Haake, Sahil Kapur and Kristen Welker, "there are more controversial nominees coming before committees this week, including Tulsi Gabbard for director of national intelligence, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for Health and Human Services secretary and Kash Patel for FBI director. All face a rocky path, and their hearings could be decisive," adding, "Still, there is some unease."
One GOP senator who did not wish to be named made it clear they are not going to be bullied.
Addressing national security nominees who “sound more like Tucker Carlson than a Republican,” they complained, "We’ll only give so much. Because this is the future of the country. It’s not entertainment television.”
The report notes that Trump supporter Steve Bannon plans to make former Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) pay for his "no" vote on controversial Fox News personality Pete Hegseth who slid by with Vice President J. D. Vance proving the tie-breaking vote to make him the new secretary of defense despite allegations of public drunkenness and sexual assault.
According to Bannon, McConnell “will be singled out for special treatment this coming week.”
