Chelsea make Dean Huijsen top transfer target as it’s revealed Bournemouth wonderkid, 19, has release clause in contract
CHELSEA have reportedly made wonderkid Dean Huijsen a top transfer target.
The defender has impressed this season at Bournemouth following his summer arrival from Juventus.
Huijsen, 19, has formed a brilliant partnership with Illia Zabarnyi in the heart of the Cherries backline.
The pair have started the previous 11 games in the Premier League together and have conceded only nine goals.
This is the best record in the division over that period of fixtures.
He has made 17 appearances in the Prem this season and also chipped in with two goals against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.
He caught the attention of fans after his goal against Spurs by copying a viral meme with his celebration.
Huijsen is now gaining interest from elsewhere, with Chelsea “appreciating” him.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that the Blues have the star “high on their list” ahead of the summer transfer window.
He has also suggested that the Spaniard has a release clause in his contract that will be valid at the end of the season.

The Blues will have competition for Huijsen’s signature, with Bayern Munich also claimed to be staying informed on his situation.
Despite only arriving at the Vitality Stadium in the summer it is not the first time he has been linked with an exit.
SunSport exclusively revealed that LaLiga giants Real Madrid have made him a surprise target as a long-term replacement for Eder Militao.
Huijsen spent a season on loan at Roma from Juventus before his move to England.
He cost the Cherries just £12.8m in his transfer and put pen to paper on a six-year contract.
During his time in the Italian capital, he was able to spend some time with iconic manager Jose Mourinho.
He played 13 times in the Serie A under the former Chelsea and Man United coach and has admitted he benefitted from his guidance.
He told the Guardian: “Jose was great even though I wasn’t with him for too long.
“He was really good to me and he gave me an opportunity and I’ll always be grateful for that.
“He believed in me and I think someone that big believing in you is very special, especially for a young guy coming through.
“For someone that big to say what he said is really special and it only gives you confidence as a player.”
Huijsen represented four age groups for Holland but switched his allegiance to Spain for the Under-21s.
It is expected that he will not be long for a call-up to the senior side if his current level of performance continues.
