Man hits woman, 66, with golf club at NYC subway station: NYPD
NEW YORK (PIX11) – A 66-year-old woman was assaulted with a golf club at a Manhattan subway station Friday morning, according to the police.
Police say the victim was standing inside the Cortlandt Street Subway Station in Lower Manhattan when a man struck her in the head with a golf club. The incident occured at 7:30 a.m., police said.
The victim obtained a laceration to the left side of her head. She was transported to a local hospital to be treated for injuries and is expected to survive, authorities said.
The assailant fled to parts unknown, police said.
The individual is described as a male, believed to be 5' 6" tall, 150lbs, and was last seen wearing a tan skull cap, grey scarf, tan shirt, tan pants, and black shoes.
No arrests have been made. An investigation is ongoing. Other details were not immediately available.
