British Isles airport reveals plans for more flights ahead of £2million revamp
JERSEY is about to become a whole lot more accessible with new flights and a huge revamp.
The Channel Island already offers flights to lots of European destinations from Faro to Munich, but they want to encourage more.

It’s come after the news in December 2024 where a Channel Islands airline announced they would introduce direct flights to Newcastle.
Taking off for the first time on May 3, 2025 the flights will run throughout the summer season.
Blue Islands airline recently announced that on Saturdays in August and September, Jersey passengers can fly directly to Bilbao, Spain and Verona, in Italy 2025.
Currently, Jersey offers direct flights to lots of UK destinations, from Manchester to Norwich, Glasgow, Belfast and London Gatwick.
As for the rest of Europe, you can jump on a plane from Jersey directly to Dublin, Düsseldorf, Faro, Funchal, Ibiza and Lanzarote.
They also offer trips to Majorca, Malaga, Zadar, Tenerife and Zurich.
But there’s one neighbouring city that’s missing.
Jersey currently offers no direct flights to Paris, unlike Guernsey.
Guernsey opened the new flight path to Paris in January 2024. They reach the French capital in 70 minutes and it’s been a very popular flight.
While there’s hope the revamp will bring in more tourism, and will encourage locals to visit Paris, there’s worry it won’t work out – like a previous route.
In 2022 a direct flight was introduced between Jersey and Amsterdam by EasyJet.
The route ran on Tuesdays and Saturdays with five flights each day and was called a “major milestone” at the time.
But less than a year later EasyJet cancelled the route saying they were putting in more of an effort to “maintain” their services with flights to the UK.
It was announced in December 2024 that Jersey airport will undergo a makeover.
Plans to update the airport include renovating a space for sea and runway views on the first floor and the creation of a roof terrace.
They also hope to improve the shopping, food and drink options in the departures terminal.
Currently, Jersey airport manage around 23,000 commercial flights a year.
You can fly from London airports to Jersey in 1 hour and 5 minutes from as little as £30.
Unlike other airports, if you’re travelling from the UK, you don’t need to carry a passport – but it is still recommended to carry ID.
