The Traitors shock as popular star is axed just one day before the final in brutal Round Table
THE Traitors fans were devastated tonight as a popular player was eliminated just one day before the final.
It’s advantage to the Faithful after Traitor Freddie, 20, was sent packing in another tense Round Table.
Freddie has been eliminated from The Traitors[/caption] He got caught up in a lie about shields at the Round Table[/caption]The politics student from Peterborough got to briefly experience life as a Traitor following Minah’s axing earlier in the week – but it was short-lived.
In cringe-inducing scenes viewers watched him get caught up in a lie about the much-valued immunity granting shields and it proved curtains.
Viewers were upset for him, with one writing on X: “Poor Freddie, he had the job for 24 hours – leave the poor boy alone.”
A second said: “It is so frustrating that he couldn’t tell them he’s only just been recruited.”
A third wrote: “I’m sad, routing for Alexander now.”
Despite the initial disappointment at being eliminated, Freddie was delighted with his Traitors experience.
He said: “I think this is one thing that I’ll look back on when I’m older, and it will be one of the most amazing, proud achievements of my life.
“Considering how many people applied for this, and I was lucky enough to be chosen, that’s amazing in itself. I’ve built some
really strong friendships and think it’s really matured me as a person as well.
“It was good to meet all these people that I would never ever cross paths with, and now they’re friends for life.”
Freddie initially wanted to be a Traitor but quickly changed his mind when the reality of the situation set in and the contestants were blindfolded at the Round Table.
When Charlotte recruited him, he realised he had little choice but to go along with it or face being killed.
He said: “The thing that was most annoying is that it was the day before the final and I had to completely switch up.
“Throughout the game everyone had suspicions that it was me,
so then the fact that it was me was frustrating!”
Sharing his highlights, he continued: “I did really enjoy when we got Minah out as a Traitor, because I think I really convinced a lot of people to get her out. When we did, I think my chair flipped. I was
so excited.
“Also, the Mission that me and Alexander carried the statues, and we were leading the charge. Two short kings and we showed them how it’s done!”
Only five contestants remain[/caption]How does The Traitors work and who hosts it?
The Traitors first launched in the UK in 2022, after the Dutch format was acquired by the BBC.
Claudia Winkleman is the show’s host, and has now hosted all three series to date.
How does it work?
It is a reality game show that involves 22 contestants, and some of them are chosen to be The Traitors.
The Traitors sees a group of contestants taking part in “the ultimate game of truth and deception”.
The group of contestants are competing for the chance to walk away with a huge cash prize.
While navigating through a series of challenges, the team are also tasked with figuring out who the Traitors are in the group (usually three contestants).
Each night, the Traitors gather to “eliminate” one of the Faithful, removing them from the competition
Meanwhile, the traitors can be “banished” if they’re successfully outed as a traitor by a faithful.
The winners of the show are either the Traitor who remains undetected or the Faithfuls if they successfully eliminate all the Traitors.
The prize sees the winner could get £120K.
