Kanye West’s Rare Photo of Daughter North Reveals One Big Way She Inspired Him
As parents, we hope to influence our kids for the better. But we don’t realize that those tiny humans are influencing us just as much (or even more!). Kanye West is reflecting on this, and he just shared how his eldest daughter North inspired him in a rare new photo.
The raper known as Ye shared a black-and-white photo of North on Instagram on Tuesday. The 11-year-old, who West shares with ex-wife Kim Kardashian, is dressed in a striped polo shirt with long jean shorts and knee-high fuzzy boots. She sits in a chair next to a piano, seemingly listening to music as they work together on her debut album, Elementary School Dropout.
“This little girl made me love music again ????” the “Carnival” singer captioned the post. “She asked me to make beats for her.”
“I got back on the ASR Chopped up beats for her album and chopped every beat with my bare hand for BULLY,” he added, referencing his upcoming album Bully.
“Elementary School Dropout bouta be album of the year,” one person commented.
West, who also shares Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5, with Kardashian, also shared of video of him and his daughter walking into a studio, captioned, “TRAINING 2.0.” In another video, North stands at the piano while a producer plays a clip from her new album, which was liked by Kardashian.
Someone commented, “You beating the washed allegations Mr. West.”
North announced her debut album at her dad’s Vultures 2 listening party in March, where she took the stage at Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. She told the cheering crowd, per Daily Mail, “Hi, it’s Northie, and I’ve been working on an album.”
The fact that they’re working together (with the SKIMS founder’s subtle support) shows that maybe West’s co-parenting with Kardashian is going better. At least the fact that he’s been spending time with the kids show he still cares as a father.
In November, The Kardashians star appeared on Zoe Winkler’s What’s the Winkler podcast, where she opened up about the “judgement” she’s received from parenting and “feeling like sometimes you’re in this alone” despite having a “great support system.”
“But sometimes in the middle of the night,” she said, “when they’re all sleeping in your bed kicking you and crying and waking up — it’s not something that I talk about a lot because I feel like there is always a lot of judgment or people always will jump to the, ‘Oh, but you have the resources to have nannies and to have help.’ And I just think that no matter what kind of help I have, I’m basically raising four kids by myself.”
