Adidas and Willy Chavarria Will Sell Items From Their Collab Via a Vintage Chevy Impala in Paris This Week
Adidas Originals and Willy Chavarria are taking their collaboration to the streets of Paris for the first time.
According to the German athletic brand, it will host a new pop-up activation during Paris Fashion Week Men’s. Adidas said that the unique event is centered around a vintage lowrider Chevy Impala, which will cruise the streets of Paris, stopping at secret locations to distribute limited-edition Paris-exclusive Adidas Originals x Willy Chavarria merch in the lead-up to the designer’s runway show on Friday.
Adidas noted that the lowrider will make its last stop outside the show venue to showcase the exclusive merch collection. Once the giveaway runs out, special tickets distributed from the lowrider will grant access to a hidden page on the Adidas Confirmed app, where limited pieces of the collection will be available for purchase, to pick up at the Adidas Originals Paris flagship store.
To commemorate the occasion, Chavarria will make a personal appearance for a meet-and-greet with fans and customers at the Adidas Originals flagship store on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 3 Rue des Rosiers.
Among the items up for sale is the new Chavarria Jabbar Low in both in “Black” and “Offwhite/Black” colorways for 160 euros. Inspired by and celebrating one of the most iconic basketball players of all time, Chavarria wanted to give his own twist on the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar signature footwear silhouette. The Chavarria Jabbar features an asymmetric fold-over tongue, highlighting a premium Chavarria woven label.
Other items up for grabs include a T-shirt, a heavyweight cotton long sleeve, a heavyweight sweatpant, a heavyweight zip hoodie, and a dress. The collection retails between 120 euros and 250 euros.
Chavarria’s collaboration with Adidas was first seen on the designer’s spring/summer 2025 runway show in New York last September. According to Chavarria’s show notes at the time, the collaboration came about as “an organic partnership born from a longtime mutual inspiration and affinity between the two brands.”
“I am thrilled to be part of such an iconic brand,” Chavarria said in September. “I have long admired Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s consistent voice through his talent, and I am so proud to create a collection with the same message. It was important for me to highlight the achievements Jabbar made on and off the court – that played such a crucial role in shaping the culture today.”
Consumers can keep an eye on the Adidas Confirmed app and @adidasOriginals and @adidasParis Instagram for updates and push notifications to track the lowrider’s location.
