Victim of Shawnee Co. deadly semi-truck crash identified
TOPEKA (KSNT) - The Kansas Highway Patrol has identified the victim of a deadly crash that happened in eastern Shawnee County on Friday, Jan. 17.
The crash happened around 12:20 p.m. in the area of mile marker 187 just west of the Topeka Service Area on the westbound lanes of the highway. The Kansas Highway Patrol told 27 News a semi-truck went off the highway on westbound I-70 and hit a bridge pillar.
The victim was identified as 58-year-old Anthony Shell of Lebanon, Ohio. According to a KHP crash log, Shell was pronounced dead at the scene. The KHP didn't say if Shell was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
