Tottenham face another ‘transfer battle’ with Juventus to sign centre-back
For the second time this month, Tottenham Hotspur are set to go head-to-head with Juventus again for a player, with Serie A giants now reportedly turning their attention to one of the Lilywhites’ centre-back targets.
Round two of Tottenham vs Juventus in January
Juventus won a big victory over Tottenham last week when they successfully beat the Premier League club to the loan signing of Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain.
It now looks like both these clubs are keen on signing a centre-back, who has been getting rave reviews since his switch to Serie A 18 months ago.
The player in question is Udinese’s Thomas Kristensen, who was first linked with a move to Tottenham last month but has now emerged as a target for the Bianconeri as well.
Juventus and Tottenham both like Thomas Kristensen
The Daily Mail now claim that Ange Postecoglou‘s men face a ‘transfer battle’ with the Old Lady for Kristensen’s signature in the final two weeks of the transfer window.
This is because Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has been in discussions with Kristensen‘s camp over recent days regarding a switch to the Allianz Stadium.
It is explained that Thiago Motta wants to bring two centre-backs through the door before the window slams shut, with the Dane being one of several defenders on the Serie A club’s list.
Tottenham also face PL competition for Kristensen
Interstingly, The Mail explain that it is not only Juve that Spurs have to worry about in the race for Kristensen, with another Premier League club also eyeing a move for the player.
Leicester City are named as ‘big admirers’ of the 23-year-old and allegedly even held talks last month with Udinese regarding a deal.
The outlet adds that Ruud van Nistelrooy wants to bring five new players through the door within the next few weeks, with Kristensen potentially being one of those.
