Tired of winter? Farmer's Almanac offers hopeful spring outlook
NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Ready to leave the frigid weather in the rearview mirror?
The Old Farmer’s Almanac released its weather predictions for the spring and the long-range outlook looks hopeful for New Yorkers holding out the cold winter.
In New York City and other parts of the Atlantic Corridor, "temperatures will be warmer than usual," according to the site. Rainfall in April is anticipated to be above normal but slightly below normal in May.
For the rest of New York, temperatures are also projected to be above average in April. The Farmer's Almanac also suggests that there will be "no significant snowfall."
The outlook is welcome news for many, as New York City has been dealing with below-freezing temperatures, further exacerbated by bitter wind chills.
For those eagerly awaiting the end of winter, Groundhog Day is just around the corner, and all eyes will be on Punxsutawney Phil to see if he sees his shadow. The Farmer's Almanac predicts that Phil will not see his shadow this year, suggesting an early spring. However, we will have to wait until February 2 to find out for sure.
