Major retailer slashes cost of gorgeous winter-flowering plant from £60 to £30
GARDEN retailer Gardening Express has slashed the cost of a range of mature plants for a limited time.
Shoppers wanting to add a pop of colour into their garden this time of year can grab five Hellebores for £30 instead of £60.
Carnival Hellebore Collection,
£29.99 (was £59.99)
Bought separately, these beauties still cost the full-price of £14.99, so if you buy one of these multi-packs you’re essentially getting three of them completely free.
Despite popular belief, there are a lot of plants you can add to your garden in winter, and you really don’t have to wait until spring.
If the ground isn’t hard with frost, or waterlogged, winter can be a great time to plant up bare borders, pots and raised beds.
The gardening authority RHS promotes planting shrubs and trees this time of year.
Hellebores are a winter-hardy plant, meaning they can withstand the UK’s winter climate, flowering well into spring.
Typically, they’re fairly low-maintenance, preferring shady areas and look great dotted at the base of trees and shrubs which is how you usually see them in woodland settings.
It’s important to use good-quality soil, but you can also mix fresh compost into your soil or a pot with good drainage to add them to your garden.
This carnival collection by Gardening Express could help brighten up your garden while saving you money, including some rarer and popular flower shapes that are often very hard to find or are on the pricier side. Win-win!
Hellebores can bring life into your garden this winter with their rich, green, leathery leaves and decorative flowers that are diverse in form and can be enjoyed well into spring.
