Despite being a busy working mum, Joanna’s glowing skin and slim physique has stayed consistent.
Her secrets? a £5 bargain buy and long walks outside.
Here, we look at how Joanna keeps her fresh-faced look and why she’ll never try Botox.
All Natural
The actress says she has often looked younger than she is and thanks to her anti-ageing genes refuses to get Botox.
“I’ve always looked younger than I am,” she says.
“When I was 21 I remember going into a video store and the assistant asked if I was over 15.”
She added: “If I develop a new wrinkle I think it’s quite nice as your face shows your character and who you are. A few lines show you’ve lived.”
Fitness
While Joanna has a slim physique she says she rarely heads to the gym.
“I do like yoga and I’m thinking of joining the gym but I don’t exercise that regularly. Walking the dog and gardening keeps me fit,” she told the Express.
She doubled down on her exercise routine with Fabulous this Christmas adding that her top beauty hack was ‘getting outside’ and drinking plenty of water.

Joanna keeps her skincare routine fairly simple and has been known to even skip it.
“There is no skincare regime. I sleep in my makeup. Once I did a shoot and I liked the makeup so much, I left it on.
“I did get a gunky eye, so I’m not sure I’ll do that again,” she told Fabulous.
Biggest skincare trends for 2025
Face The Future’s Head of Clinic, Kimberley Medd, shared the five skincare trends predicted to take off in 2025.
1. Exosomes
Exosomes are the buzzword for 2025, taking advanced skin regeneration to new heights. These micro-messengers signal skin cells to repair damage, boost collagen, and accelerate recovery, and they’re a gamechanger for targeting ageing.
2. Streamlined Skincare
The age of 12-step routines is fading as consumers shift to more intentional, multi-functional products. Streamlining skincare not only saves time but also reduces the risk of overloading your skin. In 2025, we’ll see a rise in hybrid products that combine active ingredients for simplified, effective results.
3. Vegan Collagen
Plant-based collagen will dominate the skincare world this year, providing a sustainable, ethical alternative to traditional animal-derived collagen. Expect vegan collagen in everything from moisturisers to serums.
4. The Rise Of AI
AI is revolutionising the beauty landscape, making it possible for consumers to get truly personalised skincare solutions. In 2025, we predict a dramatic shift towards AI-powered tools that help people understand their skin on a deeper level.
5. Hair Loss Solutions –
Hair loss is an issue that affects more men than we often realise, and it’s no longer just something we’re talking about behind closed doors. This year, expect to see a continued rise in demand for treatments that not only tackle hair loss but also nurture overall scalp health.
However, when she does decide to do a skincare routine she keeps it simple with a cleanser toner and moisturiser.
Her favourite? A bargain buy for £5.
“I love Nivea and I stick to the cheapest one as expensive moisturisers bring me out in spots.”
You can buy the Nivea face cream for £5.99 from Boots, and there’s another budget item she swears by.
“I use Nivea hand and body cream, and it’s only £1.99,” she added.
Make-up Bag Essentials
The blonde beauty has two make-up saviours she swears by and they have multifunction to keep it lowkey.
Joanna swears by the Armani concealer and a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick which she puts on her cheeks to double up as blush too.
She revealed that her make-up hasn’t always been so simple as she recalls her teenage years.
“When I was a teenager, I liked wearing dark purplish lipstick. I was a goth. But now I’ve become a bit more feminine,” she revealed.
Speaking to the Guardian, Joanna revealed she’s happy with her appearance and doesn’t feel the need to use a lot of make-up.
“I am quite happy with my appearance,” she said.
I don’t make a fuss of my hair or make-up. I buy a lot of make-up because I’m always having ideas about what I am going to do, but I never know how to apply it.
“Normally, I put on mascara, concealer under my eyes, a bit of peach lipstick and blusher, and that does me.”
