New details for proposed 43-acre project near Ohio University's Dublin campus
DUBLIN, Ohio (WCMH) -- Renderings show how a roughly 25-building development with apartments, a hotel, offices, shops and more could be built on a 43-acre site near Ohio University's Dublin campus.
Design firm NBBJ submitted updated images to the city of Dublin for their proposed "Cosgray Commons" development, to be built on a vacant 43-acre property southwest of the State Route 161 and University Boulevard roundabout. If constructed, Cosgray would sit directly to the west of Ohio University's Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and Integrated Education Center.
Dublin's Planning and Zoning Commission is scheduled to review NBBJ's proposal and provide non-binding feedback during a meeting on Thursday. The informal review is one of several first steps the design firm will undergo before receiving final approval and construction can begin.
NBBJ's proposal includes 332 apartments in four-story buildings, a hotel, mixed-use office and retail space, parking garages and townhomes. The site would be organized by a network of new streets, with several open green spaces. Amenities would include a pool, clubhouse, dog park, bike hub, walking paths and 545 surface parking spots across the development.
Cosgray is one of several proposed large-scale developments moving through Dublin's approval process, including Crawford Hoying's collaboration with Cameron Mitchell for a boutique hotel in Bridge Park. The proposal submitted to the city of Dublin says the hotel will house about 130 guestrooms with amenities including a fitness center, pool and spa within a seven-story tower.
Crawyford Hoying also filed another proposal late last year build another Bridge Park expansion along Dale Drive and Bridge Park Avenue, a block occupied by parking lots and a former preschool. The development would span 5.4 acres and include office space, two condominium buildings and public green space.
