Power outages reported in Acadiana
(KLFY) -- Some people in Acadiana are without power as the Blizzard of 2025 brings snow and unseasonable cold to the region.
According to poweroutage.us, a website that tracks outages nationwide, over 5,000 customers are without electricity statewide.
In Acadiana, as of 11:30 a.m. Vermilion Parish is reporting 549 outages, the most in the state. Acadia has 522 and Evangeline shows 322 outages.
SLEMCO reports in a post on its Facebook page that it currently has 1,407 customers out of power.
"We have one substation feeder down in the SW Eunice area that affects 630 customers," the post reads. "We have another outage affecting 400 customers in the Erath area. The remaining outages are spread throughout the system - mostly single outages but we do have a small number of outages affecting less than 50 customers each."
