Man charged with attempted murder after subway push in Brooklyn: NYPD
BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A man accused of pushing another man onto the subway tracks in Brooklyn defended himself on Tuesday after he was arrested in the case.
Andrew Pashimin, 19, faces attempted murder and other charges. He was escorted out of a police station in Coney Island, Brooklyn, on Tuesday afternoon.
Pashimin claimed the victim pushed him first.
"He said some mean things to me before I arrived at the station," Pashimin told PIX11 News while he was walked by police.
Pashimin is accused of pushing a 33-year-old man onto the tracks at the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center subway station on Dec. 7.
Police said the 33-year-old victim and Pashimin got into an argument while waiting on the D and N train platform. That’s when the 33-year-old was pushed onto the tracks, according to authorities.
Pashimin also faces charges of reckless endangerment, menacing, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon. Sources told PIX11 News that Pashimin was also armed with a knife.
