Lake George business loves the frigid temperatures
LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- While the frigid temperatures are frightening for many of us, the conditions are perfect for a business in Lake George as they gear up for a celebration of all things cold.
Adirondack Pub and Brewery is hosting its annual “Funky Ice Fest” January 24 & 25, as well as January 31 & February 1. The event features groovy cocktails and live music, while celebrating winter in the Adirondacks!
Temperatures in the single digits early in the week are helping the crew set up the ice bar and ice sculptures early.
"This year, the theme of what we're doing is a circus, and so it's fun because we've been able to make some cannons and some seals and all the things you'd see at a circus," said Adirondack Pub and Brewery Owner John Carr. "We're really having a great winter this year. It's actually a real winter. Coming to a pub to sit by a fire and hang out, Lake George is a great spot to do that.”
Last year's Funky Ice Fest featured cool photo opportunities and a functioning, frozen piano. Carr encourages visitors who are coming up for the event to explore everything Lake George has to offer while they’re in town, including the various ice bars and the winter carnival.
