Police warn Colonie residents of recent car break-ins
COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Colonie Police identified several neighborhood streets that have experienced an increase in vehicle break-ins since last week. Law enforcement is stressing residents the importance of locking their cars when left unattended.
Neighborhoods with vehicle break-ins last week include Old Loudon Road, Park Avenue, Forts Ferry Road, Dunsbach Ferry, and Dutch Meadows Drive. Police said residents in those neighborhoods should lock their vehicles and ensure the windows are up, even if their cars are in their driveways.
Police said other ways for residents to lessen their chances of breaking their car into are to hide valuables out of sight, park in well-lit areas, and install exterior lights. Anyone with information or have experienced a vehicle break-in should contact police by calling (518) 783-2744.
