How Lauren Sanchez dares to bare no matter WHAT the occasion… from ‘inappropriate’ kids’ book launch to White House dos
DONALD Trump’s inauguration was one for the history books, but a whole chapter might be devoted to Jeff Bezos’s fiancée after an eye-popping display that stole the show.
Lauren Sanchez‘s daring outfit was slammed as “inappropriate” by viewers as they watched the swearing-in ceremony on Monday, with one begging someone to “throw her a napkin and safety pins” to cover up her lingerie-style top.
The journalist and businesswoman is no stranger to making a statement with her outfits however – such as this number she wore to Milan for fashion week[/caption] She faced a backlash after wearing this to a White House state dinner[/caption]But the journalist, businesswoman and author is no stranger to making some risque choices when it comes to her outfits.
Be it semi-sheer, lacy, or something else altogether, she’s never been afraid to make a bold statement… not matter what the occasion.
Sanchez, 55, was thrust into the spotlight when her affair with Bezos was first exposed in 2019.
And she’s been open how she’s struggled with her newfound fame since the pair began officially dating the following year, which made her the target for cruel trolls.
The former news anchor and licensed helicopter pilot even admitted to having “shed a few tears” over comments she’s received, but has vowed to continue to dress in her own unique style no matter what.
Speaking last year, she said: “It doesn’t escape me that most of you know me as Lauren Sanchez, Jeff Bezos’ fiancée, I get it.
“I’m used to being underestimated. I’ve been underestimated for a really long time so I’m not shocked by it. It motivates me.”
She added: “People like to put you in a box and I don’t fit in that box. I never have. As a journalist, as a pilot, as a mom, and even fiancée.
“People want me to dress or look or act a certain way. But I’m just being as authentic to me as I can be.”
So join us as we take a look at the head-turning outfits Sanchez has gone for…
No kidding
One mum said she would not feel comfortable having her son meet Lauren in this outfit[/caption]Sanchez came under fire only last month for this bold burgundy number she chose for a talk all about her new kids’ book, The Fly Who Went To Space.
The sheer fabric led to a few eyebrows being raised at the children’s book store, and one mum took to Instagram to complain.
She wrote: “I really love you, but that shirt is not appropriate for a kids bookstore or promoting a kids book just my opinion.
“I have a son, and I don’t know if I’d feel comfortable having him meet you with that shirt.”
House party
Lauren and Jeff at a White House state dinner last year[/caption] Lauren documented her culinary adventures throughout the evening[/caption]Monday’s inauguration wasn’t the first time Lauren gave the leader of the free world an eyeful.
Last April, she opted for this glam number featuring a plunging neckline and sheer midriff for a White House state dinner in honour of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
Inevitably, the pictures sent social media into meltdown.
“Lauren Sanchez’s boobs had their own place setting,” one person commented.
Others were more blunt, with one saying: “Is it just me, or does Jeff Bezon’s fiance Lauren Sachez dress inappropriately most of the time? I mean this was the White House.”
Sheer cheek
Lauren Sanchez wore an Oscar De La Renta number for the Kering Caring for Woman Dinner[/caption] The astonishing outfit cost $9,000[/caption]Sanchez went out in one of her raciest outfits ever for the Kering Caring for Woman charity fundraising dinner, held in New York in September.
With the leaf-shaped cut-outs leaving almost nothing to the imagination, it might not be the kind of outfit that most people associate with charity dos.
Thankfully, designer Oscar De La Renta must have had Sanchez in mind – because those see-through panels are very strategically placed.
While others in attendance did make some bold choices, no one quite trumped the ex-journalist’s outfit – which is good given it cost a whopping $9,000.
Courageous choice
Lauren Sanchez’s outfit was quite the contrast to Eva Longoria’s[/caption]Actress Eva Longoria was presented with a whopping $50million cheque after winning Bezos’s annual philanthropic prize, the Courage and Civility Award, last year,
But once again, all eyes were on Lauren when she rocked up to the charity do with this busty number.
With a semi-sheer patterned upper section and eyelash-style trimming, it was certainly quite the contrast to Longoria’s sombre black buttoned-up outfit.
But it was also a lot more eye-catching than Bezos’s bog-standard suit – though he no doubt paid a pretty penny for it.
Going up a gear
Bezos and Lauren walk in the paddock at the Miami Grand Prix[/caption]Sanchez made a very public appearance alongside boyfriend Bezos ahead of the F1 Grand Prix in Miami.
With a tight khaki top and shades, she looked like a character straight out of GTA – and left little to the imagination.
As VIP guests of McLaren, Bezos even got a chance to sit with a headset to listen in to drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
They must have had trouble keeping their eyes on the road!
Power dressing
Lauren Sanchez attends the 2024 Forbes Power Women’s Summit[/caption]Business casual has always been tricky to grasp, but Sanchez decided to take it to the extreme for her look at Forbes’s 2024 Power Women’s Summit with this plunging bra-out number.
And she’s clearly a fan of it – because it’s exactly the same outfit she wore to Monday’s inauguration.
But if this sleek white blazer with lacy-to-the-max bra contrast doesn’t shout that she’s a powerful woman, then who knows what will.
At this event, she also admitted she’d struggled with the sudden spotlight she’s found herself in since her relationship with the Amazon Tycoon became public.
“I’m just starting to step into my own at 54 years old and it’s nerve-wracking. It’s scary putting myself out there,” she said.
“I get my feelings hurt. But my sister says, “Keep your head up and keep going, it’s just a couple people.” I really feel I have a purpose.”
French connection
The couple pick up Bezos’ prestigious Legion d’honneur award[/caption]Is it a suit? Is it a dress?
We’re not too sure – but what we are sure is that Sanchez would have been turning a few heads in the French capital, where she wore this white double-breasted half-dress, half-blazer number.
She headed there with Bezos to pick up his Legion d’honneur – the highest award offered by the French state.
Apparently, he’d actually already been awarded it in secret around 10 years previously – having Lauren by his side must have given him the confidence to actually go and pick it up!
Lauren Sanchez is one of the richest women in the world… but is it time she sacked her stylist?
By Clemmie Fieldsend, Fashion Editor
LAUREN Sanchez is one of the richest women on the planet – and she had the world’s eyes on her at Trump’s inauguration last night.
So why, might you ask, is it that she seemingly forgot to use an iron… or wear a top.
I’m all for living by the mantra ‘if you’ve got it flaunt it.’
But there’s a time and a place for it – and Donald Trump’s inauguration was not it.
The 55-year-old fiancee of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos saw her outfit slammed for being inappropriate at such an important event.
And while there is no strict dress code, it’s the sort of do where you’d try your hardest to look your best and most polished.
If it were me, I’d look back to inaugurations of the past – or rather the first ladies of the past for my style inspiration.
Think Jackie Kennedy, Nancy Regan and Michelle Obama.
Even Melania’s first inauguration in 2017 was a chic outfit she could have pinned on the vision board for inspiration.
But no. Between Lauren and her stylist they decided a plunging neckline was the way to go leaving the world asking, why?
Lauren wore white trouser suit with a cinched-in, power shoulder blazer and wide leg trousers, but the padding in her shoulders couldn’t distract from the white lace bra on display.
Her cleavage even caught the eye of Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg who is seen looking at her chest in a viral clip.
And who can blame him? It wasn’t just him that was distracted, as viewers in their millions were drawn to her lacy underwear.
One said: “Good grief, Lauren Sanchez. Put them away for one day.”
She first wore the white Alexander McQueen blazer, £1,945, trousers and corset to the 2024 Forbes Power Women’s Summit.
She might have known after wearing it once that A) it creases very, very easily.
And B) the first thing anyone will notice is her boobs.
And she’s so much more than just boobs… and so much more than a billionaire’s wife.
She’s a clever cookie having been a news anchor and reporter for a number of US channels including KCOP-TV and Fox Sports.
The outfits worn at events like the swearing in of a President live on and on in history forever.
And I for one would find it rather embarrassing if looking back people just thought of me and my cheap lace bra poking through.
There’s no doubt in my mind that the corset wasn’t cheap, and hats off to her for getting wear out of an Alexander McQueen suit.
But I hope next time she wears it she takes inspiration from our Kate Middleton.
She has the exact same blazer that she wore to the 2023 Rugby World Cup, among other occasions, but just pops a camisole underneath to keep the conversation on what she’s doing rather than her chest.
And she earns herself a lot more style credit in the process.
For a state occasion such as this, designers would have leapt at the chance to be dressing the one woman who stood quashed in a sea of tech CEOs.
Lauren is the kind of woman who would look glamorous and sexy in most clothes – she’s just got it.
So there’s no need to put it all out there for such a prestigious event.
Something more demure but still elegant will suffice for next time.
