Katie Price reveals HUGE sum she’s been quoted for car insurance after being banned from the road six times
KATIE Price has revealed the huge sum she’s been quoted for car insurance after being banned from the road six times.
Former glamour model Katie, 46, was handed a two-year driving ban after crashing her BMW in West Sussex in September 2021.

During that court appearance, the prosecutor revealed that Katie had already served five previous driving bans.
In March last year, she was fined £880 after being caught driving a Range Rover without valid insurance or a driving licence.
Katie has now admitted that her extensive driving record has left insurers unwilling to take a chance on her, though she remains eligible to rent cars.
Speaking on Rob Moore’s Disruptors podcast, Katie said, “No insurance company will insure me, they want £150,000 down, and £8,000 a month.”
Despite this setback, Katie has managed to get back on the road with the help of a car rental service, which provided her with a luxury Jeep.
Describing her experience with the rental company, Katie explained: “I went to Enterprise and said, ‘I want the biggest Jeep, the nicest car that you’ve got.’ They’re like, ‘Yeah we’ve got one, we’ve got a Nissan Jeep.’ I said, ‘Can I get it in black, and is it automatic?'”
After reluctantly handing over her licence, Katie said she was surprised to receive the vehicle.
“I went, ‘What, I can have the Nissan?’ They went, ‘Yeah!’ They’re looking at me like they’ve never seen anyone so happy in their life,” she recalled.
Katie’s difficulties with car insurance come as the average cost of cover in the UK is approximately £861 per year or £71.75 per month, though premiums are heavily influenced by driving history.
Back in October, the Page 3 legend was pictured returning to the roads in the £40k Nissan Qashqai after her 18-month ban lifted.
The reality star has faced significant legal challenges since her drink-driving blow.
At the time, she crashed her BMW, flipping the vehicle while en route to visit a friend near Horsham, and admitted to police on the scene that she had taken drugs.
At her sentencing, the district judge remarked on Katie’s troubling driving history, stating she had “one of the worst driving records I have seen,” having been banned on five previous occasions prior to the incident.
Though she was set to regain her driving licence last year, her plans were postponed after she was charged with driving without insurance.
The TV personality was left convinced someone she knows has sent anonymous complaints to the DVLA.
She told The Sun: “I should have got my licence back 16 months ago and I’ve still not got it.
“Someone anonymously kept emailing DVLA saying I’m not fit to drive and despite my doctors writing out fit to form letter four times, still haven’t got it back.

Elsewhere, the Celebrity Big Brother winner is battling a £760,000 unpaid tax bill after being declared bankrupt for a second time last March.
She was served an eviction notice ordering her to leave her £2million Mucky Mansion by the end of May 2024 as bailiffs swooped.
In July, the court was told Katie has failed to cough up a £25,000 payment she owes, followed by monthly instalments of £12,500.
Katie was supposed to hand over her six cars – a Volkswagen Beetle, a Nissan, two Range Rovers, Suzuki Vitara and Infiniti FX50 – on July 5.
She also indicated she would hand over her pink Range Rover but has so far failed to do so.
The court was told Katie was paid £84,000 by TikTok to create content for three months – but blew the lot.
It was decided her income from the social media app would be suspended last week in a separate hearing.
Under the terms of a previous order, Katie pays 40 per cent of her monthly OnlyFans income to wipe her debts.
The court was previously told Katie owes 12 people or companies but has not paid a single penny to her creditors.
This includes her ex-husband Alex Reid, who told the hearing that the mum-of-five is a “calculated, cold person”.
Speaking after the latest development, he said: “I’m here for answers and accountability and again, (Katie) Price escaped proper examination citing mental health — the same mental health issues that allow her to appear in public in various costumes but yet cannot face a court account for her actions.
“For all too long, the shadow of these court appearances have been hanging over my fellow creditors and victims.”
Katie Price's missing millions
At the peak of her career Katie had an estimated fortune of £45m, thanks to her lucrative modelling career, book deals, and TV appearances.
The cash-strapped mum-of-five was first declared bankrupt in 2019 over unpaid debts of £3.2 million.
In a podcast interview earlier this year, she blamed her exes who include Peter Andre, Alex Reid and Kieran Hayler and lawyers for her money woes.
She insisted that funding her exes’ lavish lifestyles with cars, watches, luxury holidays and homes left her finances in tatters.
She added: “I went through a breakdown, this is how mine started – lawyers and exes, that is my bankruptcy thing.
“And obviously a bit of HMRC.
“When I had my breakdown, if anyone has been depressed… I don’t know if you’ve ever had depression.
“It starts with depression and you just want to sleep all day and not talk to anyone, the phone would ring and you wouldn’t answer it.’
In March, Katie was declared bankrupt for a second time over an unpaid tax bill of £761,994.05.
The demand for payment was made by HMRC last October.
Katie was due to give evidence about her finances at the High Court but failed to turn up – holidaying in Cyprus with her new man JJ Slater instead.
Her Mucky Mansion was a bomb site for years after it was burgled, flooded and swamped by an overflowing septic tank.
She finally moved out at the end of May and is renting a four-bed mansion in Sussex.
