WHEN a partner cheats it usually spells doom for a couple because the trust is broken and often impossible to get back.

But unlike most husbands, David Robertson, 46, from Gillingham, Kent, gives his wife Sarah, 44, full permission to get into bed with not just one man, but dozens. 

During their 19-year relationship Sarah has had sex with 31 men altogether – and has no intentions of stopping there.

Here, in an honest and frank confession, David explains the reasons behind the couple’s less than conventional marriage…

‘She’s determined to look sexy & alluring’

SITTING on the sofa at home, my wife Sarah walks into the room wearing gorgeous black lacy underwear – it’s the second outfit choice she’s paraded in front of me that hour.

She’s determined to look as sexy and alluring as she can but this isn’t just for my titillation, though she enjoys my obvious appreciation of her efforts.

Because in half an hour’s time, another man is coming to our home and not only will he admire Sarah’s body like I do, but he’ll have sex with her too.

Our revelation might startle the more conservative types but it’s something we both enjoy – though for different reasons.

I love seeing her voracious sexual appetite at play and she likes it because she thrives on the novelty of a new sexual partner and two men giving her their undivided attention. 

It isn’t a cuckold situation – where a partner watches from the sidelines – as neither of us would enjoy it if I took a completely passive role.

If I do choose to watch for a while it’s simply to build anticipation, with the full knowledge that I’m ready and willing to join in at any time – and knowing I’ll be actively welcomed.

‘I’m more fulfilled than ever’

I’ve been ‘sharing’ Sarah, 44, for nine years but we’ve been together for 19, and married for four. 

There has been no down side, and while many of my friends are having affairs or bemoaning the lack of passion in their lives, I am more fulfilled than I ever could have imagined.

We are two peas in a pod, both adventurous with a love of travel and a filthy sense of humour. 

We chose not to have children as we’re both very career minded  – she’s in publishing and I’m in finance – but also because we didn’t want to be tied down in any way and Sarah isn’t maternal either.

I didn’t know before we got married where our sex life would end up.

‘We were open to anything’

I can’t recall who broached the subject of group sex first.

We often chatted about fantasies and this one caught on and evolved until we decided to go for it and have sex with another man.

‘It was explosive’

At first I was just intrigued to watch Sarah, this was the woman I love with another man.

It’s a surreal feeling, every sense was on high alert, but when I joined in it was explosive.

As was our sex later that night when we talked about what we’d done.

From then on I was hooked and we returned to the same club a few times and it never disappointed.

I’m absolutely straight – though I do enjoy witnessing another man having pleasure. Many couples who do this have rules, such as not kissing, but we don’t – we like to go with the flow.

We keep it a secret from our friends – it’s still a very taboo subject among our age group and most of our friends have children and lead a much more sedate life.

I did confide in one and he couldn’t get his head round it – I think he pitied me and worried that Sarah didn’t find me attractive enough. 

That’s far from the truth. The only reason we can risk experimenting like this is because our sex life is phenomenal in its own right.

The danger is when you do it because your sex life is lacklustre and you’re both seeking fulfilment elsewhere. 

‘Our relationship is very honest’

Sarah and I would never play around without each other. Her being with other men is a huge pleasure for both of us, because we’re both there and have the experience together.

Our relationship is very honest. We don’t have children, we’re financially independent of each other, we don’t need to be together…we want to be. 

I think men and women are often threatened by each other’s sexuality because they fear it will lead to them being left.

I have no such fears, so I can relish being with a woman who enjoys sex as much as I do and has no hang ups about showing it.
