Here's what Riley Leonard wrote on his wristband after his CFP opening-drive touchdown
Notre Dame quarterback Riley Leonard pointed out a Bible verse on his wristband after scoring an opening-drive touchdown during Monday night’s College Football Playoff national championship game in Atlanta.
The Bible verse Leonard pointed out came from the words of Jesus in Matthew 23:12 from the New Testament.
The NIV translation shows Jesus saying: “For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
Scripture being quoted by athletes on their sports gear, such as wristbands and eye black, is a regular tradition in college athletics.
For Leonard, this was the verse he wanted to share with the world after his big touchdown.
