Nearly 200 humanitarian aid trucks enter Gaza
Arab media have reported that nearly 200 trucks carrying humanitarian aid entered Gaza through the Rafah crossing a day after the implementation of the ceasefire agreement.
Al Arabiya reported today, Monday, January 20 that more than 185 trucks loaded with humanitarian supplies crossed into Gaza through the Rafah crossing, according to its correspondent in Gaza.
Earlier, Agence France-Presse had published images of humanitarian aid convoys preparing to enter Gaza on the other side of the Rafah border crossing.
Delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza and preventing a humanitarian crisis there is one of the key components of the ceasefire agreement that came into effect the previous day.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister announced yesterday that the Rafah crossing would soon reopen, with 50 fuel trucks out of a total of 600 humanitarian aid trucks entering Gaza daily.
The arrival of humanitarian aid in Gaza marks a significant step in addressing the dire needs of the population, but the scale of the crisis demands sustained efforts. The consistent delivery of supplies and fuel is essential to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the ongoing conflict.
The reopening of the Rafah crossing underlines the importance of regional cooperation in supporting Gaza. However, long-term stability will require addressing the root causes of the crisis and ensuring the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian assistance.
