In the quarter-final, the 2019 world champion came from 3-1 down to beat Ding Junhui 6-3.
The sensational comeback saw Trump fire in several incredible pots, with one long red at 4-3 up catching O’Sullivan’s eye.
He said: “I think the performance from Judd Trump against Ding Junhui from 3-1 down, some of the pots that he did were phenomenal, really.
“He just got stronger and stronger. He overpowered Ding, who’s not playing bad and has won a tournament this season.
“But look at this red. I mean, this was phenomenal.
“To be hitting down on it, stun, run through, that’s an unbelievable shot. That’s shot of the season.
“Judd’s the type of player, when he’s confident, he feels like he can make any shot.
“So I just thought that was a ‘wow’ performance.”
