I got £246 worth of items for £23 in Claire’s super sale – including Disney mugs and Hello Kitty items

A SAVVY shopper has revealed how she snapped up £246 worth of items from Claire’s for just £23 in their sale.

The woman explained how she had taken her daughter to the shop ahead of her birthday tomorrow and had walked away with a huge haul.

Included in the sale was this Lilo and Stitch necklace and a Hello Kitty jewellery set[/caption]

Included in her shopping savings were Disney Mugs and Hello Kitty items.

The woman shared a photo of her bumper shop on the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK.

She wrote: “Took my little girl to Claire’s after seeing the posts as it’s her birthday tomorrow. “She picked all this – four lots of ‘3 for £10’ and six items £1 b3g3f [buy three get three free].”

In addition to this, she had some offers which helped to take the price down even further.

The mum continued: “I had a £10 off when spend £40 and £10 C-Cash when spend £25.

“I also had £10 in my rewards account but it wouldn’t let me use it due to the amount of promotions already on.”

In total, she paid £23.30 for the items which meant a total of £71.50 off the sale prices.

However, she pointed out: “They should have been and it all should have originally retailed for £246!

“My favourite bargains are the Hello Kitty jewellery set for £1 RRP £16 and the Stitch anklet RRP £20 which we got free as she said we had 3 items and we could go get 3 more completely free and I spotted that.”

Many shoppers seemed impressed at her haul, with one saying: “Great bargains! I bet your daughter loved all her treasures.”

Another added: “Fab bargain! Happy birthday to your daughter.”

We recently shared how bag lovers had been racing to Claire’s to stock up after the retailer launched a £5 sale in stores.

A staff member took to Facebook to share how she was discounting all bags, and also promoting a “buy three, get three free” bags for £15 deal too.

This included bags themed on Hello Kitty, Gabby’s Dollhouse and the Nightmare Before Christmas.

On the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, she revealed: “All sale bags going to £5 Friday the 10th in Claire’

“Claire’s own branded bags are included in the 343 so 6 bags for £15.”

One shopper asked how she knew about the sale in advance, and she explained: “ I work there and labelled they all £5 this evening for tomorrow.”

Many people seemed keen to snap up some bargains – and some have already been successful.

One person who had seen the post wrote: “Thank you for posting this, I got 6 bags for £15 down from £156!”

Another added: “thankyou we got 6 bags for £15.”

A third wrote: “Thank you,6 items for £5 because I had £10 in rewards.”

You’ll have to be quick if you want to walk away with some discounts.

One shopper said her shop assistant had said it would last until Sunday, meaning you have the weekend to have a quick browse.

Some of the bags are discounted to £5 on the website too and are available “while supplies last.”

People seemed impressed at the options available, with one saying: “the hello kitty bags are so cute.”

How to bag a bargain

SUN Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to find a cut-price item and bag a bargain…

Sign up to loyalty schemes of the brands that you regularly shop with.

Big names regularly offer discounts or special lower prices for members, among other perks.

Sales are when you can pick up a real steal.

Retailers usually have periodic promotions that tie into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends, so keep a lookout and shop when these deals are on.

Sign up to mailing lists and you’ll also be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too.

When buying online, always do a search for money off codes or vouchers that you can use vouchercodes.co.uk and myvouchercodes.co.uk are just two sites that round up promotions by retailer.

Scanner apps are useful to have on your phone. Trolley.co.uk app has a scanner that you can use to compare prices on branded items when out shopping.

Bargain hunters can also use B&M’s scanner in the app to find discounts in-store before staff have marked them out.

And always check if you can get cashback before paying which in effect means you’ll get some of your money back or a discount on the item.
