Moment Aaron Ramsdale is ‘saved by offside’ after dropping ball into the net in ‘truly calamitous’ blunder
AARON RAMSDALE saw his blushes spared by the offside flag during Sunday’s game at Nottingham Forest.
The Southampton goalkeeper inexplicably dropped the ball into his own net at the City Ground.

The Premier League‘s bottom club found themselves 3-0 down at the break after goals from Elliot Anderson, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Chris Wood.
And it could have been even worse in the second half – had it not been for the linesman’s flag coming to Ramsdale’s rescue.
Trailing 3-1, Southampton were let off the hook as Nikola Milenkovic was denied a fourth for the hosts.
The Serbian rose highest to power a header from a freekick straight at Ramsdale.
But the England stopper failed to make the easy save, instead seeing the ball bounce off his chest and nestle in the bottom corner.
Replays showed Wood was in an offside position as the ball was swung in from the left.
VAR intervened to controversially rule out the goal, despite the striker not appearing to interfere with play.

Fans were quick to comment on Ramsdale’s error, with Saints eventually falling to a fifth-straight Premier League loss.
One wrote: “Impressive levels of luck from Aaron Ramsdale in getting a VAR decision to stop that fourth goal being replayed forever.”
Another said: “Aaron Ramsdale really wasn’t joking when he said he couldn’t concentrate for an entire football match.”
While a third added: “Making clangers for the worst side in premier league history, Aaron Ramsdale has found his level.”
Forest went third with the 3-2 victory as their fairytale season continues under Nuno Espirito Santo.
They are unbeaten since a 3-0 loss to Man City on December 4, winning eight of their last nine games in all competitions.
Southampton meanwhile appear set for an immediate return to the Championship.
The Saints sacked Russell Martin last month, replacing him with Ivan Juric.
But results have not improved, leaving Southampton 10 points adrift of safety with just a single win from 22 games.
