Paedophile, 39, kidnapped and sexually assaulted girl, 11, on her way home from primary school – as he’s jailed for life
A PAEDOPHILE has been jailed for life after sexually assaulting an 11-year-old on her way home from primary school.
Adam Baillie, 39, from Harrow, London, kidnapped the girl and took her to his home on April 19 last year.
The schoolgirl was able to escape from her attacker and ran to neighbours for help who called the police.
The brave young victim was able to show cops where Baillie lived before they arrested him.
Baillie was found guilty of kidnapping and sexual assault in October at Harrow Crown Court.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum term of 10 years.
PC Georgia Devaney-Brighton, who was the Sexual Offences Investigative Techniques Officer in the investigation, said: “Today we achieved justice for this courageous girl and I hope the severity of the sentence can provide some comfort to her and her family.
“This was an appalling crime which sent shockwaves through the local community.
“This young victim-survivor has shown remarkable bravery throughout this process, her strength and willingness to work with us has been vital in securing this conviction.
“I want to thank her and her family for their trust in the police and for their resilience during such a distressing time.”
A Met Police spokesperson said: “If you have been a victim of sexual assault or rape or you have information about an offender, contact police on 101 or 999 in an emergency – there are specially trained officers who will listen and investigate where needed.”
