Noughties singer is unrecognisable as she shares powerful message of ‘self-love’ after experiencing ‘aesthetic pressure’
THE Canadian singer and song writer achieved global stardom for her hits Say It Right, Maneater and I’m Like A Bird.
She dominated the charts in the 00’s and is one of Canada‘s most successful artists.
Now, fans have gone wild for “unrecognisable” Nelly Furtado’s latest Instagram pictures – as she spreads a message of “self-love” while striking a powerful pose in a bold bikini.
“Have a body neutral 2025, but most importantly, love with every inch of your heart,” she captioned the post to her 1.6 million followers.
Gorgeous Nelly is shown standing in front of her mirror wearing an eye-catching bright orange bikini with her brown hair tied back.
In her second photo she stands facing the side, showing off her tanned and radiant body from the side and back.
Fans went wild for Nelly’s refreshingly natural look – with no makeup, natural lighting and no editing.
She wrote in the caption: “This year I became aware of the aesthetic pressure of my work in a brand new way, while simultaneously I experienced new levels of self-love and genuine confidence from within.”
Nelly went on to explain that she had pursued legal action against “charlatans” who were using “health and beauty myths” about her to sell their services.
This had prompted her to spread her message of love and acceptance for her natural self.
The fresh-faced beauty elaborated that she has never had any facial or body surgeries – only “veneers on the top row” of her teeth.
She denied any facial injections or fillers – admitting only to wearing a spray tan in the pics.
She thanked serums, creams, lots of water and sleeping on her back for her gorgeous glow.
Touching on whether she would consider any cosmetic procedures in the future, Nelly said: “I have spider veins and they remind me of my mom [sic] and aunties and life so I think that’s why I haven’t parted with them so far.”
How to find a flattering bikini for any body type
According to Boux Avenue the best swimwear for pears shapes is a high-cut style to add length to your legs or a bold high-leg swimsuit
For those with a straight body type, the underwear brand suggests a ruched swimwear option to create shape, and emphasise your legs.
For hourglass curves, the brand suggests a strappy swimwear style, or triangle bikini.
For apple body shapes an underwired bikini is best to work with your natural volume and a crinkle high waist bikini brief.
For round body shapes supportive cups are a must and a high-cut leg will add poise to your swimwear body pose.
She capped off her poignant message by telling followers: “My New Year’s message for 2025, is express yourself freely, celebrate your individuality and know that it’s perfectly OK to be OK with what you see in the mirror, and it’s also OK to want something different. We are all cute little humans just bouncing around the earth looking for hugs.”
Fans went wild for the bold message and breath-taking pictures, flooding the comment section with praise.
“We’re so used to seeing plastic- and highly edited bodies.. This is a stunning, natural body! Our children need to see many more bodies like this,” one applauded.
